Despite the fire damage to the Hall in 1955, many of the building's original features remained intact and have been salvaged and tastefully restored to form an integral part of the new apartments.
The Estate's rich and colourful past is reflected in the touch's of historic splendour that appear throughout the building - imparting tales of splendid decadance, historic battles, royal visits and family feuds.
One of the most magnificent features of this opulent Victorian mansion house has been restored in all its glory; the minstrels gallery that formed the centrepiece of the main hall.
The restored gallery features a magnificent domed glass ceiling filling the hall with light to stunning effect. Much of the original panel work has also been restored and the Hall still retains many of the original stained glass windows.
